Stealth And The Forbes Magazine Article

By Rob Lambert - Email Editor

Date: Dec 22, 2005

Yes, that is me, and it is not a crack pipe in my arm.

It is the set of yellow glasses I use to read with.

I am writing in response to the “Where Did The Money Go?” article in the December 26, 2005 edition of Forbes magazine, in which I was featured.

This article, which is at your local newsstands, is in the Money and Investing section, and on page 58 it starts off saying “Asset-Protection guru Robert Lambert loves offshore trusts…”

That is true.

The next phrase is misleading at best: “Stealth works.”

This is true, and not true.

You always need to assume that every detail of every plan you adopt will be discovered by the bad guys.

There is no such thing as a “secret plan.”

Stealth does not work. It is nice, it helps, but it is NOT, and SHOULD NOT be, the keystone to any plan. You should always assume that each and every thing you do is discoverable by anybody attempting to tear your Plan apart.

So: Stealth is not king, but it helps and matters.

With this said, all I have to say is do your plans with the expectation that your opponent (e.g. any creditor) will find out about everything you have done.

If your plan won’t stand up under that scrutiny, then abandon it. You have been sold a pig in a poke.

All Asset Protection has to be real and based on these two rules:

ONE: What you don’t own can’t be taken from you.

TWO: No country in the world recognizes U.S. Judgments.

So, my advice is to get with an Asset Protection expert who knows what he or she is talking about, and most importantly, work with someone who can walk you through the multiple snares you are about to encounter.

Anything else is empty talk.

With that said, have a healthy and protected new week.
