Economic Times -The Sky Is Falling.

By Rob Lambert - Email Editor

Date : 09-Aug-2007

Dear Subscriber:

The sky is falling. Credit is tightening up; the real estate market is a mess; inflation is just around the corner; and, most importantly, confidence has faded. The worst thing is that the administration can't go to the tried and true tool to stimulate the economy by starting another war because we already are in one. In short, we are looking at some bad times.

What does this mean to most of you? Nothing. Most readers have taken the steps to gird their loins and are prepared. Their hard earned savings are protected, and they will weather the upcoming storm.

What happens when the world falls apart? Again, the answer is simple. To those of you who have saved and protected your money, the answer is NOTHING. You will be fine. Financial distress does not last forever. It will be over in one or two years; and, there will be some wonderful opportunities to profit from our downturn in the process.

To those of you who have done nothing you can expect the following. Credit markets will dry up. The only people who will be able to comfortably borrow money will be those who don't need it.

The worst impact of a disintegrating economy is that lawsuits become an epidemic.

Debtors turn to lawsuits to forestall collection efforts, and creditors turn to lawsuits to protect themselves. Even an ill conceived lawsuit always seems to buy at least a year of extra time, which is all most debtors or creditors want, as time often seems to heal most wounds. While this is happening, most non-law and non-entertainment businesses find their grosses dropping, which generates more discontent and eventually additional suits.

The reason I give you this gloom and doom newsletter is that I do not want any of my loyal readers to be caught between a rock and a hard place.

Those of you who have taken the intelligent steps to protect yourselves will be just fine. Those of you who have ignored the writing on the wall will not.

Please, do not shut your eyes. If you have been considering protecting yourself do not put it off. One of the most tangible results of a solid plan is the ability to sleep soundly at night. Please, do not postpone appropriate Asset Protection. One of the hardest things for me during these periods of contraction (which do not last very long) is to have decent people call me requesting help and to have to tell them that they are fried...that they waited too long.

Please, do not be one of these. Protect yourself before the upcoming short term tyranny causes you significant trouble.

Have a healthy and protected week.

Best,

Rob Lambert
