Difficult Times

I’m Gonna Sue the S.O.B.

By Rob Lambert - Email Editor

Date : 24-Jan-2008

It seems like just yesterday when I was stranded in the Houston Airport in the middle of Hurricane Rita. That was a crisis on many levels and hurt many people.

Most who were there witnessed first hand, which subsequent reports verified, that our governmental leaders were a little late and short sighted for the disaster that lay before them. In other words, when the rubber met the road, most were left to sort it out themselves.

We all have a tendency to think that good ol' Uncle Sam will be there when we need him. The problem was that the storm was so bad and the resources were spread so thin that the government's first responders were overwhelmed. They could only take care of so many trouble spots at the same time. In a horrible disaster there are always more trouble spots than the limited resources of the government can handle. Further, some things are just too dangerous for even the pros that are armed with the best of the best.

The bottom line: SOMETIMES YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN.

The current recession is one of these times.

The news is blanketed with discussions of the focused WAR the President and his fellow politicians are about to wage to put this recession behind us.

My thought: Again, don’t depend on the Feds to bail you out. Honestly, what will $800 or a $1,000 do for you?

The recession will gradually disappear when confidence is restored and the financial markets have run their course of adjustment. This is a process which does not happen quickly….and, if you are caught in the way, it hurts a lot.

My message today is to gird your loins. Do not depend on the government. Plan on some hard times and all of the fall out which accompanies this.

Part of the fall out is more lawsuits. When the economy falls apart, the lawyers gear up because litigation is the preferred way to recover money in the case of a creditor or buy time in the case of a debtor.

Remember, recessions hurt people. One family at a time. If you are one of the tens of thousands of people who will lose your job or get hit with a lawsuit (and remember, even a minor suit feels major when your lawyer asks for a retainer) then the recession feels like a depression.

You may think that this recession is a perfect time to hole up and hibernate. That is true if you have plenty of resources which are safely invested AND you have been well protected with old and cold Asset Protection. In my mind, this is the ideal situation.

If you are not one of these fortunate people it is time to take the steps to insure your financial survivability to make sure that you eventually become one of these people.

How? Simple. Protect your assets and plan for the worst. That way you might just look at this recession as a slightly unpleasant time.

We provide the tools to help you weather this recession or depression (and your take on this will depend on how much you are personally involved with the changes taking place). 0ur goal is to protect your money, and this we do with a passion.

With that said, some of you will ignore my urging that you protect yourself or it will be too late. If the worst happens and you get devastated by the depression of 2008 (and it will be a depression to you regardless of what the government calls it) then read the following words carefully. If you lose all of your money and property, you can always start over and acquire it again. I know from personal experience.

We have to remember that we’re given life, health and family just once….and those are the most important assets of all.

I really do mean all that gooey stuff; but, please also protect your money. It will make the coming storm much easier on you.

Have a safe and happy week,

Rob Lambert
